Growing Pains
![]()
I’ve been worried about Taz this past week. His usually gigantic appetite has decreased. He’s still drinking lots of milk, there are plenty of diapers, and he’s not lethargic. No fever, no nothing. He’s just a mini-tornado that’s not eating much. My first thought was, okay, maybe he was having a 14-month growth spurt and it’s over now. Yeah, that could be it.
At his gym class, he would wander over to the door, roll over onto his back and screw up his face. It was such a contrast to the boy who loved to hug his teacher and explore the room. Since he was on his back anyway, I started looking at his teeth. He doesn’t like me to look, so I tried to be sneaky. When that didn’t work, I stuck my finger in there. He chomped down. Hard. But, I did notice that he’s getting a molar in. (If I hadn’t felt it, I would still be able to tell from the imprint on my finger).
That explains why he’s not eating much. I just wish I had thought of it sooner. It would have saved me some worry!

Teething… ack. That really is the worst part of watching your children grow… or at least the most painful. My daughters are 3 1/2 and still have the random tooth or two that grows in. It drives me bonkers. Just last week two of them had fevers and I FINALLY figured out that, no, it wasn’t swine flu (LOL) but a tooth coming in.
Swine flu was my first thought too… glad it was just teeth!
oh i remember those days the teething. hope the little guy dont have to much pain.
Glad you figured it out… the not knowing is always a killer
Oooohhhh, Teething - my nemesis!
