Tidbits (fka Kids Really Do Say the Darnedest Things!)
I’ve decided that this blog is a great way to document all the silly things that my daughter says. (Hopefully, my son will add to them, but right now he just says “okay” and “uh-oh.”) So whenever you see Tidbits, formerly Kids Really Do Say The Darnedest Things, you can read about my daughter’s gems!
Sweets accidentally learned a cuss word a while back (I don’t know where she got it. It must have been her father? Tee hee). We talked about alternatives and she came up with “oh pickles!” Over time she added a banana to it. Yesterday she got frustrated and I heard “Oh banana pickles!” A moment later her eyes grew bright and she exclaimed “Oh banana pickles… on a stick!” So now whenever she is really frustrated, I hear “Ohbananapicklesonastick!”
Sweets and I were talking about some of her classmates that are bilingual. She said to me, “Mom, I speak 3 languages. The one that you speak, Dora and Kai-lan!”
And lastly, I just wanted to add that the great pun contest is complete. The winning name for the fox living under my front porch is… Mulder. Sadly, the prize is just the satisfaction of knowing I think you are extremely witty! ;- )
omg that was funny. i know when my son was growing up i had a potty mouth bad and he pick them words up so quick. first it wa funny until in the middle of a store he started yelling it as loud as he could. yeah i change my ways quick.
